Keep Your Scales Accurate with Certified Test Weights for In-House Calibration
To ensure your weighing equipment provides reliable and accurate measurements, you should regularly check it using certified test weights. This helps you catch any calibration issues between scheduled professional services, keeping your scales precise day in and day out.
Recommended Procedure for In-House Calibration:
- Level and Zero: Make sure your scale is on a stable, level surface and properly zeroed out before you start.
- Center the Weight: Carefully place the certified test weight in the center of the scale weighing platform.
- Record and Compare: Note the weight displayed on the scale and compare it to the known value of the test weight.
- Address Deviations: If the difference is more than your acceptable tolerance, stop using the scale and arrange for the scale to be recalibrated.
- Log Your Results: Keep a record of all your verification results for traceability and to show compliance.
Buying your own certified test weights offers a convenient and effective way to perform in-house calibration checks. When choosing weights, make sure they're appropriate for your scale's maximum capacity and required resolution.
All test weights from Compubox are traceable to NMI National Measurement standards and come with calibration certificates, so you can be confident in your quality assurance and audit compliance.
Regularly using certified test weights helps you maintain the integrity of your measurements and meet important industry standards like HACCP, ISO 9001 and GLP/GMP.
