Australian Standards

Handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

1 Our Commitment

We collect only the information we need to process your orders, deliver your goods and provide support. Under Australian Privacy Principle 11 (security of personal information), we take reasonable steps to protect that information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — and to destroy or de-identify it when it is no longer needed.

For details on what we collect and how we use it, please read our Privacy Policy.

2 How We Protect Your Information

  • Encryption in transit — our website uses HTTPS with TLS encryption, so information sent between your browser and our store cannot be read in transit.
  • Secure hosting — our online store runs on a hosted e-commerce platform with its own security monitoring, and our site is protected by Cloudflare against malicious traffic and attacks.
  • Access controls — access to customer information is limited to staff who need it to do their job, using individual logins and strong passwords.
  • Protected devices & email — we use firewalls, anti-virus software and email filtering on our business systems, and keep software up to date.
  • Paper records — any hard-copy documents containing personal information are stored securely and destroyed securely when no longer required.

3 Payment Security

We do not store your credit card details. Card payments are passed securely to our bank and payment providers, which are required to meet the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) for handling card data.

Paying by bank transfer? Our bank account details will never change by email alone. If you receive an email saying our bank details have changed, do not pay — call us on 02 8074 4836 to confirm first.

4 Protecting Your Account

You can help keep your CompuBox account secure by:

  • using a strong, unique password that you don’t use on other websites;
  • never sharing your login details with anyone;
  • logging out when using a shared or public computer; and
  • letting us know straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account.

5 Scams & Suspicious Emails

CompuBox will never ask you to send your password, full card number or card security code (CVV) by email, SMS or phone.

If you receive a message claiming to be from CompuBox that looks suspicious, don’t click any links or open attachments — contact us directly using the details on our website. You can also report scams to Scamwatch and cybercrime to the Australian Cyber Security Centre via ReportCyber.

6 If a Data Breach Occurs

If we become aware of a data breach involving your personal information, we will act quickly to contain it and assess the risk. Where a breach is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected customers and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, and explain the steps you can take to protect yourself.

7 Questions or Concerns

If you have a question about how we protect your information, or want to report a security concern, email info@compubox.com.au or call 02 8074 4836. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
